恐竜は現生のワニやトカゲとは異なり、2足または4足の直立する足を持っている。かかとを地面につけることなく、つま先立ちの状態である。以前は、上体を起こして尾を引きずって歩く姿勢に復元されていたが、今では、尾は後方にまっすぐに伸び、上半身も水平に保たれていたと考えられている。
